Inspiration

Inspiration

A leap of faith, a sense of care
Some touchy feelings for the dear
Some smiles, pain and struggle of no fear
Always inspire to be a winner.

Delved, the eyes so beautiful
In the ocean of unspoken words
Placid, though engraved in heart,
Gives an impulse forward.

Gentle, but strong, the caress
Behold the nerve for any challenge.
Ushers closeness, the soft moist lips
With the breath unworried, to give benevolence.

In the woods, the roads virgin
Silently inspire, verdure so serene
To get imbibed in nature
With the ageless pure vigor.

MahaKumbh Diaries

It all started when I visited my native Bhawanipatna in Dec end 2012. I had some puja to be done and we’re about to shift to Sambalpur. On the last Monday of the year (i.e. Dec 31st 2012) , Rudrabhishek was done at Bhubaneswar temple, Bhawanipatna. In the conversation, the pujari told that he was going for the Mahakumbh in January 2013. He told many experiences on his past juvenile times being involved in spiritual activities at many places near to Himalaya. Though I was inclined to spirituality from childhood days, his stories somehow put more oils of thought in the lamp of my heart and it was there in my subconscious. The pujari said to me your good days have started. On the next day, we shifted to Sambalpur and somehow due to my strong desire, along with family I visited many temples such as Tarini, Ghat gaon; Huma; Ghanteswari; Budhraja. It was nice experience to all of us. Then I came to Bangalore to resume my job.

After some days I saw in television the colossal gathering for the Mahakumbh and read in newspaper too. Number went above 75 Lakh on the first day of Kumbh! However I wasn’t so keen to go be a part of it till that time. After some days, my friend Arun from Hyderabad called me and gave a suggestion of going to Kumbh. Immediately my mind gave a positive response and we decided to be a part of this great gathering. I checked in internet about the mystery of Kumbh and how it has become a part of our religion from thousand years. I checked my job schedule and thought that taking a dip at the last day of Kumbh i.e. on Shivratri will be conducive. I emailed the information of my schedule to Arun and soon after he along with his one friend seconded to be a part of this trip.

Somedays later suddenly sad traumatic news flashed out about the death of many people due to stampede in Allahabad railway station. Many friends advised me not to go there for the safety reason. However I was determined to experience it and it was not a normal Kumbh; it’s happening after 144 years; hence definitely worth going there as it’s one chance in a life time.

We planned our journey ahead and our main focus was on Varanasi followed by Allahadbad. As direct flight to Varanasi wasn’t there, I had to go via Lucknow. On 8th Mar 2013, I started from Bangalore towards Lucknow. My friends from Hyderabad had already reached Varanasi on the same day. This was my first time travel to Uttar Pradesh. When I arrived in Lucknow Airport in evening (around 6.45pm) of 8th Mar, the cool breeze air welcomed me and I felt this was a benison for my journey onwards. I asked the local airport security guard about the railway station and food details. I took a shared taxi as suggested by the guard to the railway station. There were 5 more people in the same auto rickshaw who were also going for Kumbh; all were South Indian. The conversation among us was relaxing and they also came in the same flight. When we reached near to the railway station, I could see the mob more in number. I was hungry and managed to get some good vegetarian food in a hotel. I loitered nearby shops and bought some sweets. The train to Varanasi was at 9.50 pm from Lucknow North Station. I entered the station and enquired it’s running late. Soon I got a call from Arun and he informed about their staying at Varanasi. My body had been exhausted with the long standing. The Kashi Vishwanath Express finally arrived after a half an hour delay. The 3rd AC cabin gave me a lot of comfort from the outer horrible environment. The next early morning brought me a new experience to feel the Temple City – Varanasi with more excitement. There were people everywhere and it was over-crowded in the early morning 5 am due to Kumbh. I took a shared auto rickshaw and went to Shivala where my friends were staying. On the way I asked the driver about the ‘must go’ places and Sadhakas. He told me that Varanasi is the place you would find enough sadhakas, however getting a true siddha sadhak is very difficult and suggested me to search on the bank of Ganga river.

I met Arun after a long time in the lodge and around 7AM we went outside to explore Varanasi. First visit was to Durga temple. That temple is surrounded by water, red in color truly symbolizing the power of Goddess. There’re many other small temples nearby. Then we visited Tulsi Manas Temple, the ambience was serene, calm and whole RamCharitManas was written in the walls; we felt blessed to be there. Our journey moved to Sankat Mochan Temple. It was believed that TulsiDas met Hanuman there. So in the remembrance of their meet, the temple was built. We stood in the long queue. Monkeys were enjoying a lot inside the temple. People were reading Hanuman Chalisa, and we joined with them too. The experience was divine when I saw the Lord in the temple. Soon after, the food (sweets) bought from temple gave much relief to the hungry stomach. The journey headed towards BHU where my father was a PG student once upon a time. Pandit Madam Mohan Malviya’s statue rightly present in front of BHU gate (called as Lanka). We moved inside the campus and visited Birla Temple.  We had a great breakfast with menu as paneer paratha. We liked so much that we referred some of other south Indian visitors and they cancelled Idly and ordered paneer paratha. :)

It was almost 11AM and we had to cover many other places. Ramnagar fort was in the next list and we headed towards it. It was on the bank of Ganga river and we enjoyed spending time there. After then we came back to the lodge and took a nap and next we moved ahead towards Kashi Vishwanath Temple around 2.30 PM. The queue was so long that one had to stand for 6 hours to have a darshan. I thought, it was not worth-standing and instead, we could go for the search of Sadhakas near the Ghats. We took some dips in the holy Ganga river. We almost covered all the ghats and it was worth travelling all the ghats. We went to Manikarnika Ghat and saw the huge pile of wood for the cremation. Every time, around 3-4 corpse were being burnt. We met some sadhus and had conversation with them regarding the experience in Kumbh. Some of them were Naga Sadhus who were total naked, clearly expressing the true nature and goal of life.  Later in the evening, we saw the Ganga Aarati in the Dashashwamedha Ghat. It was mind-refreshing and divine. After having dinner in a nearby hotel, we headed to lodge. The first day experience was too good, but we missed to cover Sarnath due to limited time.

In the night, the other friend of Arun came with his mother from Gaya and they joined us. On the next morning (10th March), we went to Shivala Ghat and took a bath in Ganga river. I took many photos of the sunrise in the Ganga Ghat and it was so clear and beautiful. It was Shivratri and all of us decided to do fasting except me. However I after eating one apple, 500gm of orange and 250 gm of grapes, I also decided to go for fasting for the complete day. Then we moved towards Allahabad (Prayag) in a bus and we reached around 1.30 PM. Somehow the crowd was less as it was the last day of Kumbh and we got an accommodation in the Kriya Yoga Kendra. The campus was beautiful. After freshening up, we moved to Sangam in the pursuit of a dip. We went in a boat and it took us to the middle of Sangam. The depth was only till thigh and we all with whole heartedly took bath. We collected the Sangam water and sand and spent around 3 hours moving there. In the evening around 7 PM, we returned to our staying place. There was a huge banyan tree where the Kriya Yoga Sadhaks used to medidate and after dinner, I along with Arun, spent some time beneath that tree. The second day journey was very good.

In the next morning, we woke up around 4 AM and got ready and moved to Allahabad railway station to catch the 6.15 AM train for Lucknow. However we missed the train by some mere minutes. Due to good luck or something, we got Tribeni Express soon and reached Lucknow in the afternoon. After hiring a local auto, we had a heavy nice lunch and visited some famous parks and headed to airport. Soon after, my friends left to Hyderabad and I came to Bangalore. The trip to MahaKumbh gave me a lot of insight related to life and spirituality.

The Dejected

The hands trembling in the rain,
The body of bones clearly visible in pain,
Dried eyes still need no pity,
The friendly flies on clothes torn and dirty
The dejected man lives in dignity
Still none put human attention and duty !

Stomach craving for food so many days
To the developed world, the curly long hair makes him daze.
Skies open to feed air and water
And people eagerly hate to pour some care !
The miserable man living in roadside place
Walking stick is the only hope and solace.

Accustomed the body, Of all  sensation
From the so called reality of civilization.
Still he exists with self-esteem
Relishing his fate and time.
With some broken teeth to shine
Still life goes on for him...!

Beautiful Mystery

A smile
Some attraction
Sparks ownness.
Unaware of any lore
Blossoms a soft flower
Still radiates fragrance.

Eyes adore charm
A touch, so sweet and warm
Still caves in the mind so calm
And love showers us as balm

Joyful nature ever
Weaves music in compassion
Sowing the love in synergy
With His kind benison.

Lies all over mystery
With the beauty to praise
Bemused and happy, I thank
To cherish the aromatic age.

Campus Visit to IIM Calcutta – EPBM15

It was my dream to study in IIM and it got fulfilled through EPBM-15 (Executive program in business management) course.  IIMC is far from city, placed in Joka. According to our course curriculum, we visited campus for 1 week.

Day 1: 17-Apr-2011 (Sunday)
It was hot in Kolkata. From airport, I hired a prepaid taxi and came alone. On the way I saw myriads of old fashioned cars (ambassador)– taxi painted in yellow car. Trams, many on-going constructions, shops and buildings made me to visualize that it is one of the oldest city of India (though I heard about it). With approx.1:30 hr duration, I reached IIMC campus and located in Annex hostel. It was a small single room. My stomach was in pain asking for some food and I asked someone where the cafeteria is. The food was really delicious (felt homemade) at Tagore hostel though I was hungry.
I took a nap and loitered nearby in the evening in the campus. The serene surrounding   of greeneries, pond, chirping birds soothed my mind as I was longing for this type of environment from a long time. After having dinner, I did some browsing with my laptop. It was very difficult to sleep due to the hot and humid weather.

Day 2:
I was forced to awake in the morning when I heard someone banging the door of my room. I saw the boy from the canteen with tea handing over it to me, but I refused to have. Soon I finished all my morning jobs and got ready for class. The registration process started at 8:30 am at auditorium. I saw many known faces from Bangalore. After completing the registration, we all went inside the auditorium. At 9:30, EPBM directors Prof. Anindya Sen, Prof. Soumen Sikder, Prof. Amit Dhiman gave formal speeches of campus visit purpose. Soon “Information System” class was taken by Prof. Subir Bhattacharya and it was very interesting and much of my usefulness. Porter’s 5 forces model, Value chain, IT interaction model, McFarlan’s strategic grid were of main focus. I was thinking of my future role in job looking at the Information System StrategyJ. I loved the class which ended in 1pm. After lunch Macroeconomics class by Prof. Sudip Chaudhuri started which mainly covered “India and The world Economy”. In the class students from various industries (IT, banking, aviation, medical, automobiles, media, etc.) are there. In the evening I met with another Odiya student who works for Allahabad Bank in Ranchi and we both visited Behela , a place near to Joka, which is famous for shopping. Around 8pm we returned to campus and had dinner and did study for next day’s topic. In the night, it rained and we had a cool sleep.

Day 3:
As usual in previous day, I was made got-up by the tea-wala and did my daily morning routines and got in the classroom on time. Prof.Subir Bhattacharya took class on “Information System & Strategy”. We discussed ITC eChaupal case which revolutionized the supply-chain in agriculture in India. After launch we had class on Human Resource Management by Prof. Amit Dhiman and he was mainly focusing strategic HRM (case study involved was Infosys HRM). At 5.15 pm, we had a group photo of around 300 colleagues followed by HRM class continuation. It was also a good day to learn a lot.

Day 4:
As usual this day also gave me lot of knowledge. The class started on topic “Changing Geo-politics & the International Business Environment” by Prof.Biju Paul Abraham. He discussed about trading, liberalization in trading, WTO agreements. Post-lunch class was taken By Prof. Anindya Sen on “Law & Economics”. As usual the class was much interactive with fun and knowledge.

Day 5:
In our satellite program, we all were much impressed by Prof. Anjan RaiChoudhury with his topic on Entrepreneurship. We all were waiting for him to come and as he entered, he was honored with standing obeisance. He covered the first topic on “Family Business” and as the class progressed all students were surprised to know that most of the worlds business (90%) are family business and so much successful such as Cargill, Bosch, LG, BMW, Walmart, Loreal, Hyundai, Motorola, Levi Strauss, Ford Motors, etc. and the list goes on. Second session was on “A look at the future“ and it was full of entrepreneurship. Much interesting points were observed: Moving the trend from selling power to buying power, from product to experience, from exploitation to sustenance, from bureaucrats to innovators, from dominance to partnering (gender). I was impressed by knowing the fact that economic growth is driven by women.
Post lunch session was really exciting. Prof. Ranjan Das took the class who was the main person behind this EPBM course. He taught us about Strategy management which was very useful for all of us regarding entrepreneurship and management. To be successful we must have conviction and strategy.  Later the class, Prof. Manju Jaiswall (Finance) and Prof. Jacob Vakkayil (Behavioral Science) came and we had a good interaction with them.
In the evening, I visited library. It was full of books, however I looked some magazines of Strategy & Leadership.

Day 6:
This day’s class was taken by Prof. Runa Sarkar on “Sustainability and the Firm” which mainly focused on environmental issues, how to go green. As usual, all topics taught were highly interactive and interesting. This was the last class in the campus visit session and some of the colleagues started leaving the campus. In the evening I visited Howrah bridge and Belur Math alone, while returning to hostel surprisingly Mamta Banerjee showed her face in sudden on the way.

Day 7:
This was the last day for me in IIMC campus. After lunch, I hired a taxi and went to Airport. All my 6 days during the visit were highly impressive and definitely I utilize the teachings in my life; Hoping for some other day to visit it again!

Change

Change is the beauty.
Everywhere reigns the queen of Change
making unnoticed her presence.
However some aroma from her body
tries to enchant the ambience,
to show the change, may be strange..

Change – sometimes slow, but quick
brings only goodness to pick.
Cries and smiles, the immortal Beauty
and spreads disaster and prosperity.
From micro to macro; in motion and stillness
She stands with voice and silence,
in light and in darkness.
In thoughts, in material,
the Change creates with essence,
some thing new, just gives a birth.
The Change is eternal
that makes life lovely and lively with worth.

Forget And Remember

Forget And Remember
(Life is all about Forget and Remember)
In the mortal world, when a child is born
Seems to him all unknown whether even or morn.
Ambience makes him to learn and grow.
About mundane life, people make him to know.
Gets the right path in life to achieve the goal,
He enjoys all beauty, music, Nature and soul.

Becomes a storehouse of knowledge
When he reaches the optimum matured edge.
Slowly the worm of time erodes the memory-brain
Making the energy and wisdom to drain.

Finally sets in the soil, leaving the body senile.
But the spirit keeps the memory for a while.
Again when it appears as a fresh flesh bloom
It cries, seeing the alien place of doom.

Of birth and death, repeated is the cycle,
Creating a new history with a  new title.
Here continues the story of old and new.
Thanks to the Great Saviour for His great view.
Else, it would be miserable and delirious
In the wilderness  of recollecting the wheel of birth.
Landing in the play of ‘Forget and Remember’, auspicious
We cherish the life full of taste and mirth.

Time to change!

Well, it is a big topic what I am going to represent here. From past eras, saints and foresighted people have been conveying the same message “Time to change!”. But it is not the time which changes the situation, but are the people who do it.
The main source of all powers is Supreme Soul – GOD. But hardly people recognize this and make themselves ready to go further into it. We even don’t know who we (souls) are and what we are doing in this corporeal world. Today, the world (earth) is in extreme bad condition where all evil things are ruling their empires. The lust, ego, anger, attachment, envy, etc. are present in every human being. But these evil things make us dirty and we go into such a situation where we feel that we are losing harmony, peace and happiness. The ultimate goal of every human being is peace, happiness and harmony. In order to achieve this, people do lots of things. They go to some gurus or earn money. But whatever we are trying to find outside, all the things are stored within us, we need to utilize ourselves.
The root of sorrow, anxiety and sadness is ‘Body Consciousness’ and because of this all our five senses work much faster and they indulge easily in evil things. Being ‘Soul Consciousness’ will overcome this negative effects. Considering oneself as Soul, the bright point of light, who is eternal, above all the earthly matters, and doing meditation (keeping intellect and mind with God), can easily give happiness, peace. We are the children of one Supreme Soul, but we have forgotten our states and we fall into this bad and sorrowful world.
This is the right time to change ourselves as this time (Kaliyaga – Iron Age) is on the verge of completion and Satyayaga(Golden Age) is about to begin. To enter into Satyayuga where there is peace, happiness and prosperity, we need to convert ourselves accordingly. We need to chane our qualities into those of deities.
